Of je nu veel ervaring hebt of niet, wij hebben het beste meerdaagse schaatsavontuur voor je in petto! Als je ervaring hebt met schaatsen, nemen we je elke dag mee naar het beste natuurlijke ijs, in een gebied van ongeveer 350 km rond Stockholm. Binnen dit gebied liggen drie van de vijf grootste meren van Europa (Vänern, Vättern en Mälaren) en de archipel van Stockholm in de Oostzee.
Als je je avontuur op natuurlijk ijs wilt beginnen, bieden we ook een meerdaagse beginnersroute aan met iets kortere trajecten en afstanden!

- Thursday – arrival day. You can choose to stay at:
- The Best Western Park Arlanda Hotel at Arlanda Airport – This is a good option if you are arriving late in Stockholm.
- The Best Western Bentleys Hotel in the city centre – This is a good option if you are arriving early in Stockholm and would like to see some of the city. The rooms are limited.
- Friday morning – we pick you up early (approx. 07:30) from your arrival hotel and drive straight to the best ice for the day for a full day ice skating. That night you stay in a first-class country-style guesthouse on the route.
- Saturday – early start and a full day ice skating and another night in a first-class country-style guesthouse on the route.
- Sunday – early start and a full day ice skating before being dropped off either at the airport or in the city. If you are leaving the day the tour ends, please do not book a flight before 18:30 (if in doubt, please ask us).
Should you wish to add pre/post tour nights, please email us with your booking number and we can quote/book this for you.
Before you head off in search of adventure, your experienced guide briefs you on the tour and the safety equipment, and once you are fitted with your nordic skates and equipment, you head to the best ice and the most beautiful surroundings that Stockholm has to offer.
You are split into subgroups, each with an expert guide, to ensure you are skating alongside people of a similar ability and with similar expectations. You skate all day with your subgroup, but meet the rest of the group for lunch and in the evenings at the hotels and guesthouses.
Depending on the weather, ice conditions and the skills of your subgroup, you can cover anything between 20 and 80 km per day.
The days are full of beautiful scenery, some of the best natural ice and skating conditions for nordic skating in the world, and lots of fun and exhilaration as you get to know your fellow ice skaters. The evenings promise to be just as enjoyable as the days, with good food, fun chatter about the day’s activities and the chance to relax in the sauna and at the bar. We stay in first-class country-style hotels and guesthouses that are high in quality, charm and character.

- Friday morning – we meet at our location at Kungsbro strand 21, very close to the central starting and we drive you on a minivan to the best ice for the day for a full day ice skating. That night you will stay in countryside cabins in double rooms close to the nature and the natural ice.
- Saturday – early start and a full day ice skating and another night in countryside cabins in double rooms close to the nature and the natural ice.
- Sunday – early start and a full day ice skating before being dropped at the starting and meeting point at our location at Kungsbro strand 21 in the city center. If you are leaving the day the tour ends, please do not book a flight before 18:30 (if in doubt, please ask us).

We have 4 weekends set for our open/scheduled Swedish Skating Adventure 2026:
- 29 January arrival, ice skating 30, 31 January,01 February 2026 – ADVANCED LEVEL
- Ice-skating 06, 07, 08 February 2026 – BEGINNERS LEVEL
- 12 February arrival, ice skating 13, 14, 15 February 2026 – ADVANCED LEVEL
- Ice-skating 20, 21, 22 February 2026 – BEGINNERS LEVEL

- Experience the thrill of long-distance ice skating on natural ice.
- Ice skate either on a small lake, Lake Mälaren (the fifth-largest lake in Europe) or the Baltic Sea in Stockholm’s Archipelago.
- Spend a few days surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
- Knowledgeable and experienced English-speaking guides.

- Small groups; minimum 2 participants / max. 10 participants per guide.

- Transport throughout the entire adventure.
- Free of charge photo-memories of your tour made by your guide. This is not a photo tour experience, the pictures made by your guide are just an extra add-on.

- The ADVANCED Swedish Skating Adventure will stay in First Class Country Style Hotels and Guesthouses with Sauna in Single and Double rooms. The BEGINNERS Swedish Skating Adventure will stay in countryside cabins in double rooms and we will cook all the meals together.
- To join the ADVANCED Swedish Skating Adventure you should have experience ice skating and be physically able to skate for approximately 6 – 8 hours a day if you want to join this tour. In case of doubt please discuss it with us by email at [email protected].
- To join the ADVANCED Swedish Skating Adventure you should be able to skate at a 10km/h minimum speed.
- If you have booked the ADVANCED Swedish Skating Adventure and the guide considers that you cannot keep up with the experience and the pace of the group you will be ask to step aside.
- If you are an inexperienced skater, you should choose the BEGINNERS Swedish Skating Adventure.
- We start skating early every day so we can make the most of the daylight hours.
- We plan every ice skating tour carefully with our expert local knowledge and the most up-to-date ice reports to ensure we skate on the best natural ice for the day. This means that, depending on the weather conditions, the location of our adventure and the skating conditions may vary. We could go to a small lake, to Lake Mälaren (the fifth-largest lake in Europe) or to the Baltic Sea in Stockholm’s archipelago – we won’t know until that day. One thing we do know for sure is it’ll be a great experience!
- A minimum physical condition is required as you will be outdoors ice skating for multiple hours multiple days in a row.
- The safety equipment you skate with weighs approximately 8 kg.
- Guided language: English.
- For the ADVANCED Swedish Skating Adventure, you must be a party of two to book a double room. If you are a single traveller, you must book a single room.
- For the ADVANCED Swedish Skating Adventure, transfer included from the airport to the hotel if staying at The Best Western Park Arlanda. You must provide your flight number if you would like to receive the transfer.
- For the ADVANCED Swedish Skating Adventure, all meals are included, except for arrival day and dinner on departure day.
- For the BEGINNERS Swedish Skating Adventure, all meals are included except for the departure dinner.
- Minimum age (public ADVANCED tour only): 18 years old.
- Minimum age (public BEGINNERS tour only): 15 years old.
- No minimum age on private tours.
- Maximum weight: 130 kg.
- If we do not meet the minimum number required for the tour, we will offer you an alternative date or tour, or a full refund.

Het tempo wordt altijd bepaald door het ijs, de weersomstandigheden en de deelnemers in de groep. De geschatte duur hangt af van de tour die je hebt gekozen:
Introductietour schaatsen: 5 – 30 km
Begeleide tour ‘Een dag op het ijs’: 20 – 70 km
Schaatsen met vrienden – Privé-schaats tour: u bepaalt het tempo
Zweeds schaatsavontuur voor beginners: 5/10 – 30 km per dag.
Zweeds schaatsavontuur voor gevorderden: 30 – 70 km (we splitsen ons op in kleinere groepen om aan verschillende schaatsbehoeften te voldoen) -
We bieden schaatsen op natuurijs aan en gaan zo veel mogelijk in de archipel schaatsen, maar aangezien het weer voortdurend verandert, geven we er de voorkeur aan onze groepen naar het beste ijs in de omgeving te brengen. Dit betekent dat we soms voorrang moeten geven aan het schaatsen op meren in de omgeving.

Ja, dat kan, zolang u het schaatsijzer zelf kunt verwijderen en op uw schaatsen kunt lopen. Neem bij twijfel contact met ons op. Er is geen prijsverschil als je je eigen schaatsen meeneemt. Het is niet toegestaan om hockey- of kunstschaatsen te gebruiken tijdens onze open tours (je kunt natuurlijk wel een privé-tour bij ons boeken en dan wel je hockey- of kunstschaatsen gebruiken). Hieronder zie je de schoenen met rubberen zool en de schaatsen met Rottefella-bindingen van Lundhags die we gebruiken voor onze tours en verhuur.

Nee. Om de veiligheid van onze klanten te garanderen, gebruiken we altijd onze eigen uitrusting. Alles staat voor je klaar zodra je aankomt om aan je tocht te beginnen. Je kunt ervoor kiezen om je eigen langlauf-, tocht- of tourschaatsen te gebruiken, mits je de schaatsen zelf kunt uittrekken en op je schoenen kunt lopen. Neem bij twijfel contact met ons op. Er is geen prijsverschil als je je eigen schaatsen meeneemt.

Deze vraag krijgen we zelfs van mensen die in Stockholm wonen. We gaan bijna elke dag schaatsen en zijn er zeker van dat we ijs kunnen vinden om op te schaatsen, dankzij onze lokale kennis en een uitgebreid netwerk van betrouwbare bronnen. Dit is het originele driedaagse skate-avontuur dat in 1997 van start ging. Wij beschikken over de meest ervaren en vriendelijke skategidsen. Alle skate- en veiligheidsuitrusting is inbegrepen. Onze luxe bus reist altijd met ons mee, zodat we met de wind mee kunnen skaten. We verblijven in eersteklas 3- tot 4-sterrenhotels in landelijke stijl met karakter, waar we genieten van voortreffelijke diners met twee gangen.
Onlangs hebben we ook een beginnersvriendelijke optie gecreëerd, waarbij we dezelfde schaatsduur aanbieden, maar dichter bij de stad, met meer aandacht voor techniek en een verblijf in landelijke huisjes in tweepersoonskamers, waar we alle maaltijden samen bereiden.

Er zijn een paar belangrijke verschillen tussen de beginners- en de gevorderdencursussen van Swedish Skating Adventures:
- Vaardigheidsniveaus schaatsen: Het ‘Advanced Swedish Skating Adventure’ is bedoeld voor ervaren schaatsers op natuurijs die zich op hun gemak voelen bij een snelheid van minimaal 10 km/u gedurende meerdere uren. Het ‘Beginners Swedish Skating Adventure’ is bedoeld voor mensen die hun schaatstechniek op natuurijs willen leren of verbeteren, terwijl ze genieten van een prachtig Scandinavisch winterlandschap. Er geldt geen minimumsnelheid om aan de tocht deel te nemen.
- Afstanden: Tijdens het ‘Advanced Swedish Skating Adventure’ wordt een gebied met een straal van maximaal 350 km rond Stockholm verkend en wordt er per schaatsdag tussen de 20 en 80 km geschaatst. Tijdens het ‘Beginners Swedish Skating Adventure’ wordt een gebied met een straal van maximaal 150 km rond Stockholm verkend en wordt er per dag tussen de 5 en 30 km geschaatst.
- Accommodatie: Deelnemers aan het ‘Advanced Swedish Skating Adventure’ verblijven in eersteklas landelijke hotels en pensions met sauna, in een- en tweepersoonskamers. Deelnemers aan het ‘Beginners Swedish Skating Adventure’ verblijven in huisjes op het platteland in tweepersoonskamers, en we bereiden alle maaltijden samen.
- Vervoer: Voor het ‘Advanced Swedish Skating Adventure’ worden bussen met externe chauffeurs ingezet, terwijl voor het ‘Beginners Swedish Skating Adventure’ minibusjes worden gebruikt die door de gids(en) worden bestuurd.

Zodra je hebt geboekt, ontvang je in je bevestigingsmail informatie met kledingadvies voor een winteractiviteit. Neem ook een thermoskan en een donsvest (of iets vergelijkbaars) mee voor tijdens onze lunchpauzes in de buitenlucht.
