Travel to Stockholm

We recommend you to take the train to Stockholm. It is comfortable, environment freindly and cost efficient if you book well in advance. From Berlin it takes no more than 14 hours to go to Stockholm by train! See more below. For tours within Sweden, book at www.sj.se and for tours from Germany use www.bahn.de.

When in Stockholm and going to and from our tours we recommend you to use public transport. Stockholm has excellent and efficient public transport. Public transport is a way of seeing the daily life of a city. It is often also faster than to tackle the traffic jams of the capital. There is a 7-days card on which you can travel as much as you want on commuter trains, the metro, buses and the ferries in the harbour. For information and time tables use www.sl.se.

The same ticket is valid for the train as for the metro, but you need one additional coupon (and a return ticket). You can´t buy tickets on the train, but need to buy a prepaid ticket in the metro stations or at “Pressbyrån”, shop for magazines etc that you’ll find all over. An alternative is to have the Stockholm card or a travel pass.

Europa Spezial
Ein super Angebot der Deutschen Bahn: das Europa Spezial Südschweden. Das bedeutet, daß man bereits ab 39€ von allen deutschen Bahnhöfen bis nach Stockholm reisen kann. Vor allem für Leute aus Norddeutschland unschlagbar bequeme Anreise und dazu noch billig. Wie immer gilt auch hier: Frühzeitig buchen! Am besten 90 Tage im Vorfeld. Besondere Rücknahmbedingungen!

Berlin-Night-Express
Besonders interessant für Leute aus der Umgebung von Berlin und aus dem östlichen Teil Deutschlands. Züge fahren aber nur von ca. März bis Oktober, Dienstag, Donnerstag und Samstag. Abfahrt des Nachtzuges von Berlin 22.30 und Ankunft Stockholm am 13.50.
