Archipelago Kayak and Camping
Amongst the uninhabited, magical islands in the outer Stockholm archipelago, we paddle in search of a little paradise. We cook good food together and put up our fine dome tents on the smooth sun-warmed slabs. Or instead you may prefer to sleep just as comfortably on an air mattress under the open sky, it's your choice! We offer 3 and 5 days tours.
Nämdö archipelago, soon to be a National Park
Our kayak base on Runmarö Island is probably one of the best paddling areas in the whole archipelago. There is no other spot that allows such easy access to the wild scenery of the outer archipelago. With our kayaks we glide silently along narrow, shallow passages between the islets where even oystercatchers and seagulls reach the bottom. The Nämdö archipelago is proposed to become a National Park and even a World Heritage Site - it is easy to understand why.
Adventure for everyone
As for the weather, it usually improves as we paddle further out towards the open sea. It is not unusual for it to be raining over Stockholm whilst we glide out towards brilliant sunshine. At this time of the year the days are wonderfully long and nights light. Most participants on our trips have no previous experience and sea kayaking is easy to learn. Shortly after an introductory training session in our stable kayaks you’ll be ready to paddle away and discover the natural beauty of the archipelago. The group is small, just 8-9 participants, in order that we can enjoy the tour in the best possible way. The sea invites refreshing swims and those who wish may also take their own fishing rod. With a little luck - or skill - there could be fish for dinner. Our tour guides are experienced paddlers with excellent knowledge of the archipelago, its history, flora and fauna. Count on fascinating tales and enjoyable conversation!
Close to nature
The outer archipelago is reached by surprisingly few visitors which makes it easy to find our own desert island on which to set up camp. Sleeping on an inflatable mattress guarantees you a good night’s rest. Camping conditions are simple giving us the opportunity to experience nature close at hand. Of course, we treat ourselves to a little wilderness luxury - good food - which everyone helps out to prepare.
Nature’s Best
These camping trips by kayak has been arranged since 1984, among the first in the world on a regular basis! In 2002 the trips received the quality label “Nature’s best”, the first ecotourism certification system in the northern hemisphere.

The kayak mini trip was simply amazing, not just for us, but the kids loved it too. The breathtaking landscapes, the adventure, nature and just being ourselves… lead by a competent and discreet guide. Kayaking between the islands, having our meals around a fire, the sunsets, breakfast under the rain, saunas... are just a few of many moments loaded with overwhelming emotions that will stay in our memories forever.
